10Tik Shows ‘Appreciation’ After ‘Roll Deep’ Hits 10 Million, Plans ‘Rise Of The Gwallas’ Album – DancehallMag

Rebel Nation | September 30, 2021

Rising Dancehall star 10Tik is grateful for his recent milestone – 10 million YouTube views on his breakout hit, Roll Deep – and he used the platform to show ‘Appreciation’ to his fans.

The Kingston-born newcomer and former fireman has been burning up the airwaves with the melodic street banger since its February debut. Seven short months later, the Gwallaz Boss is in good spirits over the track’s whopping 10 million YouTube views and the support for his “legendary beginning”.

Using the same platform, 10Tik uploaded a minute-long ‘Appreciation’ video yesterday, with an acoustic version of the grimy anthem featuring Leeah. Shot By 9Mile Visuals, the clip showcases 10Tik with his crew and aerial views of the “4 cawna” of Jamaica now in tune to his talent.

“Me never expected such as huge response to the ‘appreciation’ but since it drop couple days ago, the outpouring of support has been tremendous,” the deejay told DancehallMag.  “It is something I wanted to do for the fans that were there right through and show that love and support.”

10Tik cited the pandemic’s limitations on his fledgling career while showing gratitude to fans in the video’s caption. “I show my full appreciation to all the spirits who take time to meditate my music,” the deejay wrote. “Because of Worldwide pandemic related issues we have not yet got the chance to connect with most of you guys in person. I hope you feel my gratitude az a Gwallaz.”

Since being thrust into the spotlight, 10Tik’s fortunes have greatly improved, and the Gangsta deejay plans to drop what he calls a “movie-album” in January of next year, which he has dubbed, Rise of the Gwallas.

“It will be 10 songs plus a documentary, this is the first time a Jamaican artist will be doing something like this with the audio-visual lock in, it ah go be extraordinary,” he explained.

In a previous interview with DancehallMag, the deejay stated that he speaks on behalf of people who come from nothing, born with a burning desire for elevation. These core fans, in turn, have put his music on a pedestal, helping him score major milestones in his short career. “I talk about the ones who are unspoken, the ones who are marginalized and forgotten. When people listen to my music, it’s going to be personal to them,” 10Tik said at the time.

Since Roll Deep‘s release, the deejay has followed up with The Real Way, Freedom with Yaksta, Burning Issue, and most recently We Nuh Like War.

His upcoming plans include a new self-produced single called Purpose, with accompanying visuals, and he is also planning to tour England soon. “Mi have to give thanks, mi ah line up to go England, everything book and confirmed already,” he revealed.
