Chronic Law’s At ‘Crossroads’ And 5 More New Dancehall Songs: Listen – DancehallMag

Rebel Nation | October 12, 2021

There have been alot of new Dancehall releases over the last week.  We got you with six to keep on your radar.

Chronic Law – Crossroads

Chronic Law continues to show off his impressive work ethic. Fresh off the heels of releases like “Still a Bleed” and “Nah Sell Out” with Jdart, he holds a meds with the track, “Crossroads”. Produced by Big Zim Records on the “Clear Shadow Riddim”, Chronic Law gets deep with his lyrics as he shares the pain he deals with, talks about the life that he lives that can “make a Guitar fret”, the demons he fights daily, and the experiences that have shaped his entire life to becoming the person he is today. Have a listen.

IWaata – Ink Up

In Dancehall music, the Tattoo culture has grown exponentially over the years, with some of our favorite artists covering their bodies with everything from stars, memorials for a loved one, quotes, an affiliation to a crew, or the name of their favorite person. Vybz Kartel displayed his love for them in his classic, “Colouring Book” single, and recently, Dancehall artist IWaata does just that in “Ink Up”.

Produced by Page Ent. alongside Kool Face Records and Crash Weh Play Music, IWaata gives us his 2021 take on Tattoos as he goes through his history with them, the process before and after getting them done, and for those who are curious about the procedure, he quotes that “it pretty when it finish, but some r*******t pain!“. IWaata shares that despite warnings from his Grandmother, he can’t get enough of the tatts as they can be quite addictive. Check out the ShotByDeth directed music video.

Kash Promise Move – Bun

Recording artist Kash Promise Move has been staying consistent with the releases this year. He has shown a lot of potential, and it shows in his streaming numbers. With “Left The Earth”, “Love You”, and his Jada Kingdom featured “Ride (Remix)” doing very well, he gives us the music video for the single, “Bun”. Covering the topic of cheating, Kash encourages a young lady who has been mistreated to “gi di bwoy bun, wid me…” in the African Kydd directed visual.

Kyodi – “Bless The Yaad” Freestyle

Music Streaming platform Audiomack recently launched their new series, Bless The Yaad”. The Caribbean version of their “Bless The Booth” series finds some of Jamaica’s emerging lyricists holding their own in the booth every week. On episode 2 of the series, Dancehall Artist Kyodi steps up and spits some bars. How did he do?

Krytical & Rytikal – My Crew

The Dancehall lyricists team up to let the world know that their crew is a solid, serious, and grimey set of people who handle things the right and proper way. On “My Crew”, Krytical and Rytikal brings out some real badness on the beat, and they roll deep with enough artillery to take down any team, and anyone who feels they can be pushed over. “My Crew” was produced by Sutidon Records, and it is accompanied with an action packed music video.

Shaqstar & Java – Stronger

Recording Artists Shaqstar and Java share that despite the trials and difficulties they have faced in their lives, no one can stop the blessings that they are now receiving from Jah on “Stronger”. Produced and released through New Wavez Entertainment, the Artists provide some positive lyrics, and even though their paths may not be straight, they read a few Psalms to guide their steps. Bronco Don was given the reigns to direct their music video which captures a bit of the reality of everyday life in Jamaica.
