Drake Breaks STREAMING RECORDS With “Certified Lover Boy”

Rebel Nation | September 4, 2021

Drake dropped his album “Certified Lover Boy” album, on September 3 and as expected the project has started to chart its trajectory towards success whilst throwing down a heavy competition against Kanye West’s “Donda”.

According to variety.com, the Toronto superstar is already breaking barriers with his new body of work as on its launch on Apple music the project has been crowned with the “biggest album debut ever”, placing Drake as the most streamed artiste ever, in 24 hours and “Certified Lover Boy”, the most-streamed album in a day.

In his move towards gaining the additional musical prestige to his name, Drake not only broke his record that his ” Scorpio” album set in 2018, debuting with 170 million streams but he also broke Apple Music’s streaming record just after Kanye had achieved it just a few days before with “Donda”.

The streaming honours also extended to Spotify for Drake, as his prized project, received the most streams in a day for an album which places him at this time, well ahead of the game.

Fans of the “6ix God”, must be in an extra celebratory mood, when they notice how well ” Certified Lover Boy” is doing and they have every right to, since the album was delayed for a while and was even previously said by Drake that January 2021 would have been the release date.

It seems as if the Toronto native was planning something very slick, as he dropped the project just days after ‘Yeezy’ dropped his, whilst also shading the “Jesus Walks”, entertainer.

No recent word has been heard from Kanye’s camp as it related to ” Certified Lover Boy” however it is known that the rapper’s manager previously spoke to the fact that ‘Ye’ would have been listening out for shades from Drake on the project, which if heard would spiral into war.
