POPCAAN Yet to be Featured on a Drake Album Since Signing

Rebel Nation | September 5, 2021

Canadian rapper Drake dropped his “Certified Lover Boy” album on September 3rd and has already begun breaking records on Spotify, and Apple music which signifies that the body of work will go down in history as one of music’s all-time favourites.

One thing we are aware of is that the “6ix God” has a very strong connection with Jamaica, and as such even ended up signing former Gaza artiste, Popcaan to his ‘OVO Sound” label, which many hardcore dancehall fans celebrated proudly.

Since then, the real fans of ‘Poppy’ have been waiting to see the deejay appear on one of Drake’s albums but it has not happened as yet.

In 2016, lovers of the ‘Unruly Boss’ were excited to see the entertainer pop up on ‘Champagne Papi’s, cult classic “Controller”, on the “Views from the 6” album, with a verse, however, it was later found not to be on the album since Drake removed Popcaan’s part.

In 2020, even though fans of the Jamaican artiste had been disappointed not seeing an official Drake and ‘Poppy’ song released by the Toronto star, they were assured that the relationship with the two was good since, the rapper was featured twice on the deejay’s “Fixtape” album, on the songs entitled “All I Need”, and “Twist & Turn” featuring PartyNextDoor.

‘Champagne Papi’ had already been advertising his upcoming album and many would have felt that there would be even 1 song with the ‘876 Gud’ however, there were not any.

This has since then been stirring up reactions from fans of Popcaan, who have been trying to find answers as to why the deejay is not on the “Certified Lover Boy” Album, with even some critics including Queen Lady Gangsta outlining that Drake does not like the short Jamaican entertainer, “Drake Don’t Like You” she said recently in rant against Popcaan.
