Popular Jamaican socialite Stephanie Gregg, the 26-year-old daughter of former race car driver Gary Gregg, sister of racer car driver Kyle ‘Speedy’ Gregg, and niece of Dancehall producer Rvssian, is dead.
Gregg reportedly had underlying health issues and suffered from an autoimmune disorder, and developed complications after contracting COVID-19. She was airlifted to Miami this week but died on Tuesday.
Known affectionately as Steffie, she was a popular figure from the upper St. Andrew community, with over 34,000 IG followers, and was an avid video game player.
Rvssian, who also recently lost his father, shared an Instagram post today that memorialized Steffie.
“I feel helpless
“You taught my daughter adri the wine dance moves
“When u was a 6/7 years old me & xav & kyle use to say we would always have the shotgun ready for any of the boys who bother you. But you grew into a beautiful young lady who had all them at your feet, and we use to laugh about that together. Your mom is one of the strongest women I know & you got that from her – literal twins… I promise to take care of her for you because she lost her dad and you her daughter in one week and that can break anyone.”
On Steffie’s most recent Instagram posts, there was an outpouring of support from friends, family, and members of the Dancehall community.
Dancehall deejay Popcaan commented a stunned ‘No Way’ while many other persons sent condolences.
They include music industry insider Romeich Major, dancer Desha Ravers, Usain Bolt and his wife Kasi Bennett, Dancehall artists Deep Jahi, Projexx, Starface, Kemar Highcon, Stalk Ashley, Yanique Curvy Diva, social media personality Prince Pine and several more.
