Usain Bolt Tweets Inevitable Dad Joke – DancehallMag

Rebel Nation | August 18, 2021

Jamaican sprint legend turned Dancehall music producer Usain Bolt doesn’t seem to be getting much shuteye these days, since the arrival of his twin boys Saint Leo and Thunder two months ago, who have joined their 16-month old sister Olympia Lightning.

Bolt apparently had a rough time this morning and decided to make light of the situation by finally sharing an inevitable dad joke that played on his kids’ names on Twitter.

“Thunder was misbehaving early this morning then Lightning decided to join the party ,” he wrote.

The snarky joke expectedly set off a string of responses from his followers and of course, some chose to call out the retired track and field star for his very predictable tweet.

Simi said, “How long have you been waiting to say this,” and Gyaldemsuga joined in, “I think you have a lot more weather jokes written down. We’ll wait patiently.”

Twitter user, Antisocial Extrovert, added “The fact that I don’t know if you’re talking about your kids or the weather is crazy,” while another follower J said, “Weather or the babies you talking about?”

It may very well be both.  According to the Jamaica Gleaner, the Meteorological Service said that Tropical Storm Grace moved over Jamaica’s northern coastline this afternoon and will head towards the Cayman Islands later this evening.

The fans continued to play along with Bolt’s funny metaphors. “Guess your day gonna be overcast,” said Shawn Dotting.

Then Yerac added, “We should expect some rain then.” Also, C. Senior29 said, “What a storm ….must hurricane season.”

One person wrote, “Thunder Bolt and Lightning? Very, very frightening,” to which another replied “Galileo!” in reference to Queen’s megahit Bohemian Rhapsody.

Bolt, 34, told People magazine last month that the Olympics was way easier than raising his three children. “[It’s harder] being a father of three, of all of them, especially when they’re crying. It’s great, but [when] everybody’s crying. It’s pandemonium in the house,” he said.

He admitted that he and his long-time partner Kasi Bennett has had help from both his and Bennett’s parents. It helps he says especially with how “crazy” it is to have three small children.

Now that Jamaica’s eight-time gold medalist has retired, the question is whether the next generation of Bolts will be joining their father’s sporting legacy. While the retired sprinter says his children are indeed growing tall and showing physical signs of athleticism, he will let them choose to join the sporting world on their own accord. But with names like Olympia Lightning and Thunder especially and just the family name Bolt, the pressure will be on them.

The eight-time Olympian recently thanked his fans for their support of musical endeavors and has hinted at a new project on the way from his A-Team Lifestyle production house.
